Government Buildings gets divided for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh - Detailed information

The state government has gone about dividing influential government buildings in the city. The committees on assets and liabilities and buildings submitted a report to this effect to Governor ESL Narasimhan. The report came out that the Telangana state will be getting A,B,C,D blocks of the Secretariat and the Andhra Pradesh government will get the L,J,K, and H blocks.

Moreover the entrance to Telangana Secretariat will be opposite to Amrutha Castle hotel while that of the residuary AP will be the present one that is opposite to Lumbini Park. The chamber of the Telangana’s CM will be in the C block and chamber of AP’s CM will be in H block South or the J block.

Another thing is that, if two governments want to have a wall between them, then the roads and buildings department will come up and would construct one in the middle of the Secretariat. The CM's camp office-cum-residence at Begumpet area will house the Telangana CM and the Green lands Guest house will be changed into the camp office-cum-residence of the AP’s CM.

The ministers quarters located in Banjara Hills will be divided into two parts in order to accommodate ministers belonging to these two states. For accommodation of MLAs of both states, the Old MLA Quarters in Himayatnagar will be allotted to AP MLAs and the New MLA Quarters located in Adarsh Nagar will be allotted to the Telangana MLAs. In the Telangana assembly, additional chambers for speaker, deputy speaker, media gallery, visitors' gallery and chief whip and government whips will be constructed soon.

The other buildings that will be divided are the Vidyut Soudha and Jala Soudha in Khairatabad and the Industries Bhavan in Basheerbagh, Burgula Ramakrishna Rao building near Secretariat and Samkshema Bhavan in Masab Tank will be divided into two. Since the AP government will favour moving out of Hyderabad city in less than one year the government will not insist in having new Secretariat and Assembly buildings constructed.
